Now that I am DM (and I'm sure for other tiers) I'm looking now closely at my plans for 2013 travel. Shocked at the M fare to NRT from MSP and from MSP to LHR compared to simple mileage UG (AND availability) on AA or UA from ORD. We are talking 4500K fare from Msp to NRT in May vs 1700 _ 700 co pay on AA. As a DM (or for any other tiers) DL is not competitive in their FFP for trying to use SWU or miles internationally. I KNOW THIS IS WELL KNOW but think it's important to hammer it home. For me it truly impacts how I will travel (i.e., use more of AA) internationally and then plan one where I will be in 2014. PLANNING AHEAD IS KEY TO FLYING AND FT HAS HELPED ME TRULY!
