Hi all,
I got a note from the PANYNJ today alerting me to the fact that there will be some overnight road closures and AirTrain service disruptions because of construction around JFK beginning next week and lasting throughout the next couple of weeks. I've tried to find any sort of alert on the Port's website but have been unsuccessful so far. I'll keep looking and if anyone else can track it down, please post.
The Van Wyck Expressway will be closed in both directions from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Tuesday Jan. 15 until Saturday morning Jan. 19 and then again overnight from Monday Jan. 21 until Saturday morning Jan. 26. Traffic will be detoured to the JFK Expressway and travelers should allow additional time to reach their destination.
Additionally, JFK AirTrain service from Howard Beach including Lefferts Blvd. and all service into and within the Central Terminal Area will be suspended overnight between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning on Monday, Jan. 14 until Friday morning Jan. 18 and then again beginning Monday, Jan. 21 until Friday morning Jan. 25. Free shuttle bus service will be provided at Howard Beach, Lefferts Blvd., Federal Circle and at all airline terminals. Travelers planning to use the shuttle buses should allow additional time to reach their destination. The JFK AirTrain will continue to operate between Jamaica Terminal and Federal Circle.
Thanks,
