First, please forgive me if this is answered elsewhere. I tried to very carefully read as many of the related threads as I could, and didn't see a specific answer.
I was a former NW worldperks elite (Plat) for many years, and was a delta DM the first year of that program. For various reasons, my work travel required moving most of that travel to UA for 2011 and 2012.
During those years, I still booked all of my personal travel on DL whenever possible. In 2011, I ended up with Gold, mostly because of rollover. In fact, I started 2012 with roughly 800 rollover miles. I flew 24,412 MQM in 2012, and with rollover, re-qual'd for Silver, with ~400 rollover starting this year.
During the last 2 years, I've been a 1K on United, and in 2012 was a GS (received an invite this year as well). I flew a little over 210K on united, much on Y/B/M fares, and a few international J/C
This year, I have a lot more choice in my travel arrangements, and plan to bring my travel back to DL. I requested a status match, but was told that because I qualified for Silver with the rollover, I'm not eligible for any kind of status match.
I sent an email asking for clarification that I'm actually being penalized for having kept my personal business with DL, and having a few hundred rollover - even though I'm considering bringing back about $74K in spending to DL. I was told there were no exceptions.
I guess my question is, are there really no exceptions? Is there a better way to go about making this request - or a way to escalate it? It seemed pretty crazy that they wouldn't make exceptions for profitable customers. Am I just out of luck?
