I know that the seat map isn't a good indication if a flight is empty (since people may not have chosen seats). However, I have a flight coming up that shows the following on ExpertFlyer and the seat map:
EF: J9D9C9 I8
Delta Seat Map: 7 open seats in business
EF Seat Map: 12 open seats in business
EF: Y->U9 T6 E4
Delta Seat Map: 3 open seats in coach (including economy comfort).
EF Seat Map: 12+ open seats in coach (some are blocked)
Which one am I to believe? I'm trying to judge chances of an upgrade (this is LAX-JFK, where upgrades are typically held until the gate, though I got UG'd a day in advance on JFK-LAX last week) + the chances of a bump. Is there a reason why DL shows many fewer open seats in coach? I'm a GM and so should have access to every coach seat for free.
