Hey fellow flyertalk peeps. I had a trip (about a $600 ticket) from SDF-DCA last month where I flew SDF-MEM, then my MEM-DCA cancelled due to a mechanical (landing gear issue). I was then routed MEM-ATL, ATL-DCA when my ATL-DCA segment got cancelled as well (reverse thruster) after we had to deplane after over an hour on the bird. I then pleaded to get on anything close and a flight to IAD was leaving from another terminal in 6 mins. I sprinted and got on that as they were closing the door. Was over 7 hours late (and not at my original dest airport), and was meeting my CEO for customer meetings (he got in just fine at 11am on SW lol). Basically a trip in vain, turned around and flew home the next day. Delta offered 15k miles. Maybe for one IROPS, but TWO back to back? Couldn't have been worse timing for me personally (I know that's not part of it). I think at least $400, given that people get $200-400 just for volunteering seats and I had two bumps and a trip in vain. Thoughts?
