Why are delta flight attendants so "old"(mature)

This is going to hit some nerves... but why are all delta flight attendants so old or mature to be politically correct. In my country flight attendants are younger now you may be saying that young people don't wanna be flight attendants in the states but, i find that to be incorrect. Delta just doesn't target the students . Like in Israel you can study and be a flight attendant at the same time while it doesn't work in the states. So why not hire students which would settle for way less pay? or generally younger people.
