I'll have a short break from school this May and will be home in Wisconsin from the 11th until the end of the month. I don't know if I'll be back in August (or if ORD will still be seeing DC-9s by then), so this could be my last chance to fly on the type. I had looked up ORD-ATL-TPA and back for $300 roundtrip a few days ago, but didn't have time to go to the ATM to deposit the cash and now its gone up to $400 roundtrip. Anyone think the fares could come back down over the next few weeks? Then there's ORD-DTW and ORD-ATL, which seem insanely more expensive than usual. ORD-DTW-ORD is $355, when last year I flew it for $113! Then roundtrip flights to ATL are up to nearly $700, when just a few weeks ago when I checked it was around $250. Anyone know what's up with these massive fares hikes?
