Wonder if it's standard at Terminal D?
On a busy morning last month at Laguardia, the Delta D-gates Sky/Precheck lane was overflowing, so I went to the smaller entrance to the right, which isn't always open. After waiting thru that line for ten minutes or so, the fellow ahead of me beeps three times, and the agent refuses to let him decline precheck, and makes him get on the longer Sky/Precheck lane. You can guess what happened right afterwards to me. Yep, same thing, right back onto the end of a new, longer line.
Now, I have declined precheck numerous times at the precheck entrance when traveling with others, and it's normal to get shunted to the regular lanes. And of course at the Delta C-gates at Laguardia, there is no precheck lane. But that agent refused to let me decline precheck, which makes no sense when that line is longer. Venting, and wondering if it was that agent, or it's a standard procedure. Since then, I just haven't gone to that smaller entrance in Terminal D, because I'm always late and don't want that situation to re-occur.
