Just checked my reservation for a trip coming up later this year and early next year (xxx-ATL-AUS rtn). There has been an equipment swap on the AUS-ATL leg from an MD-90 to a 757 and our pre-booked seats in EC have been moved so that the four of us now have four aisle seats, totally separate from each other.
Fortunately, there's plenty of open EC seats so I've been able to move us to ensure that we are still sat together. This in itself isn't a massive issue because I picked up on it and was able to re-select seats but I don't understand why we weren't informed by e-mail. We're signed up to recieve email alerts and I don't understand why we weren't informed of the changes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I do check back regularly, but if this had happened closer to the time I'm concerned that despite booking 8 months out we could have ended up sat seperately.
Can anyone shed any light into why we weren't informed?
