Benefit of KE Skyteam partnership?

Sorry for being on a soap box but I am interested in other thoughts. With the recent announcement of less and less SM's and MQM's accrued (or lack of accruel actually), what is the benefit and reason for someone to fly on a supposedly Skyteam partner (KE)? Especially if the class of service booked is non-negotiable as to what will be booked by a corp travel dept versus what the traveler would like. So now, an H, Q and multitude of other fare codes that corporate travel will most likely book. I've flown KE before (in the past) and earned MQM's every leg no matter what class of ticket. I saw the Sept 1 announcement and was glad it was still June or so I thought. Now I find that 20 hours on KE metal is virtually worthless. If I'm not going to accrue miles, I could have traveled on a different routing, different carrier, and a shorter amount of time away from home.

KE is not much of a SkyTeam partner if you ask me. It takes the TEAM out of SkyTeam. And although I like to try and be a loyal SkyTeam customer, it looks like the reversal of taking care of your loyal customers seems to NOT be the case. I might as well book travel on OneWorld or Star Alliance then, since their service to a lot of places in Asia is more direct and more convenient. Not being able to accrue miles seems like no incentive to fly on SkyTeam.

So my question of which I yet had someone at DL provide an answer, "With no mileage credit, what is the advantage by flying on the KE partner?":( If it's for the early boarding, you can pay a little extra and buy that on most of the other big alliances, so no big advantage.
