If I had one "Delta Lifetime Wish" it would be to have a 2 hour plane ride with Richard Anderson and talk about Delta Airlines. My brother was a direct report to Richard in an earlier life and enjoyed working for this fair and demanding CEO.
I would tell him all the things I like about Delta (hard product, people, IRROPs handling, SLC hub). However, I would then like to have a candid discussion about all the SkyMiles devaluations. I would ask him how unsettling it feels to me when I see him on the safety video when he describes a culture of "trust" and "partnership" but then I see all these devlauations. I would ask him about the 72 hour rule, the same day confirmed changes, difficulty in finding low awards, etc (and the corporate "enhancement" spin around the changes). My guess is that he has put tremendous pressure on each department to meet financial goals and then devlatuions are a outcome of his goals. I would hope (I am naive) that he would listen and maybe consider re-visiting some of these changes.
But ... I guess this is only a wish ...
