Standby, Revenue and 3 hour confirmed

I am currently on standby for a MCO to ATL flight...are my options getting confirmed all gone unless I pay $50?

I was told by the ga that Delta changed the rules strictly because of revenue.....

Current GM and can't wait to get my standby middle seat.....
