I booked an award ticket with OK and managed to achieve an almost impossible goal - added DL flights to and from JFK to connect to my international flights.
Now that I have DL flights added, I wonder whether as a Delta Medallion traveling on an award ticket issued by another SkyTeam carrier I am eligible for the same benefits on DL flights as if I was traveling on a DL issued ticket?
My outgoing leg on DL is in Y class (for now at least as low J is not available) while incoming is in BE. Naturally, I am not curious about any aspect of my travel in BE.
Here is what I experienced on delta.dumb:
1)I was able to easily add my whole reservation to MyDelta. My class on the outgoing leg shows as Economy (N)
2)I was able to assign myself seats on the DL flights (as a side note, interestingly, when I select a trip in MyDelta, the page that loads shows my Skymiles balance as 82 miles. It's over 100K actually, but whew... when I get back to delta.com I am displayed the correct miles balance). .
3)I am not able to select Economy Comfort seats nor pay for them. When I try to select Economy Comfort seats I get:
Seat Ineligible
Passenger is not eligible for this seat. Please select a new seat.
message. Looks like I am treated less then a SkyTeam elite for purposes of selecting Economy Comfort.
4) And the seat map looks very strange:

as the first row of Y in 757-200 have Econ Comfort on the left side and preferred seats on the right side with 19a and 19f being regular seats (strange...). Interestingly, I am able to select preferred seats for free. So, I must be considered a Medallion member by the site.
5) There is a note saying "Medallion Upgrade Requested". So I must be considered as SkyTeam/DL Elite for purposes of complimentary upgrades. But am I going to be in the same upgrade priority group with non-status fliers, Silvers, Golds or Plats on that award ticket? Or will my PM status with Delta put me in the same group with other Plats on award tickets?
Did anyone with Elite DL status had an experience flying DL using another partner's miles?
