Hate to start one of these threads, but I have been diamond since it started. This year I am 9k short. In the past I got my miles by flying to Asia, but finished up my Asian project this year. Next year I will probably get 50-75k max.
If I buy the 10k miles, I won't have any to roll over next year, and may not even make platinum for 2014. Plus, 1k is a lot of money.
If I just leave it as is, I am diamond anyway until Feb, and sky club through september. Plus will be able to roll over 41k miles and platinum will be a breeze. If my flying picked up, I could re-qualify for diamond.
I'm leaning towards staying platinum, and using miles to renew the sky club when it runs out. Any different opinions? Most of my travel will be to Mex and Europe. Mex is not elite heavy, so platinum should be good enough. Europe is no UG anyway without op up.
