I got my 2013 DM luggage tags in the mail last week and noticed they seem to be a bit thicker than previous and that there's no FF number printed anywhere on them. Not that the sticker from the previous tags lasted more than a few months, but I'm wondering why no FF number on them at all anymore.
My tech-geek side of me is wondering if they have an NFC chip (or other proximity device) in them which would be pretty neat. But I'm guessing the cards have been reduced to purely non-functional fashion/ego tags at this point.
Anyone know anything? I'm considering stickering mine with my FF number so if my bag should happen to go missing there's some chance of it finding me again. For some reason when I say I have a black roll along to the bag agents they act like it's not uncommon. Strange...
BTW, the cards seem thick enough now that one could laser cut a bottle opener into the card (if you had such coolness available to you for use) and that would make it infinitely more functional that it appears to be now.
