Domestic upgrade w/ miles - where do I fall on the priority list?

Hi all,

I have a flight ATL-SMF coming up that I had to book somewhat last minute for work, and I booked into B fare class. The only seat left was in the middle in the very last row, but there are 3 open seats in first (not sure if there's upgrade availability though).

I've spent my lunch break scouring through the Delta site, FT, Google, you name it trying to find out if doing a 12,500 mile upgrade would put me ahead of the elites on the upgrade priority or not (similar to an SWU does for PM/DM). Can anyone advise?
