Ways to Alienate Customers

What's ok:
Storms in the midwest, a late arrival, a hastened but awkward boarding process, regardless of an equipment change.

What's NOT ok:
Storms in the midwest, a late arrival, a severely delayed boarding, and auctioneering passengers to a flight a day later due to an equipment change.

I was in paid first - the plane arrived 10 minutes late, (ICT-ATL), and it was nearly an hour before boarding commenced. The reason? An equipment change from a 900 to a 700. Suddenly a quiet boarding at 9:45pm became a cattle auction - a bit of kabuki theater that benefited Delta's profit margin for the flight. They had 8-12 people surrounding the gate agent shouting out what they were willing to take in compensation for giving up their seats. There's no PROTOCOL for this situation?? Delayed the flight more than an hour...

So much technology. Such a large company. And we're no better than a cattle auction? Honestly, even though I'll make DM for this year by the end of May, I'm considering other options - aggressively. But you all know the pitfalls.

United. Ummm - no thanks.
American. Pause until the AA/USA merger settles

Hey - I've run out of options! Just the way they want it... three ugly girls at the bar, and it's midnight. Whether it's poor customer service, the less-than-friendly SDC changes, or the swill they're pushing on us in the Sky Club, Delta has made it clear that it's a take it or leave it proposition.

So, the question is, do we take it, or do we leave it??
