If I am flying on an award ticket (O and X) and rebooked in J as shown on delta.com (because of IROPs), will I earn J miles?
Sorry if this post isn't concise. Am in XXX in Africa with little internet and on an iPad keyboard.
Route: all J on miles
XXX
AMS
ATL
XXX
XXX-AMS flight was delayed due to the airline's problem.
Rebooked on SAA
XXX
JNB
Then DL
JNB
ATL
XXX
The SAA and DL portions appear to be paid J booking class.
Couldn't reschedule plans in time to really commit.
Am now looking at other options.
Emirates has an angled flat
XXX
DXB
but then what looks like a great option with their new J product
DXB
IAH

If I take Emirates might I lose out on all the DL MQM if it really is rebooked as J? Or if I take DL will the system recognize the Paid class is an award? If I don't get any MQM, I'd prefer EK. Otherwise, I'd rather grab DL and the MQM.
I understand I can also double dip but need to weigh flying EK J vs losing all those MQM.
Thanks in advance and let me know if other details are needed.
