I fly most airlines yesterday flew a 737-9 and A321. The 737 had nice seat recline A321 even better compared to UA,AA, and WN. Spirt and Frontier have no seat recline..

Checked bag & switching to earlier connection
I have an upcoming itinerary EGE-ATL-BDL, and it's looking like EGE-ATL has been arriving 15-20 mins early most days. With the scheduled arrival time, it's only a 28 min connection to the next flight to BDL, which is obviously illegal, so I'm booked on the flight after that (2.5 hour connection, ugh). However, with 15-20 additional minutes, it'd be totally realistic to make the earlier BDL flight.
If the flight status shows that the EGE-ATL flight will be arriving early, prior to checking the bag, can I ask the ticket agent at EGE to check the bag on the earlier flight to BDL (and ideally, change my ticket along with it for same day confirmed)? Worst case, I'll switch to the earlier flight once I get to ATL and voluntarily separate from my bag and just head back to BDL later to get it (I only live 20 mins from BDL, so it's pretty easy)
I know it's a long shot, but wanted to see if anyone has worked through this type of situation before.

Unused e-credits from ex-employer
HI all!
I had a few Delta flights booked by my former employer in March of 2020. (employer paid, nothing out of pocket for me)
I was laid off because of Covid and the flights were canceled.
I realized a few months ago that the canceled flights showed up as unused e-credits.
I recently booked a flight and used some of the credits.
Lo and behold, I get an email today from the CFO of my former employer asking me to reimburse the firm for using the e-credits.
My understanding is that the credits are non-transferable to anyone else. As a result, they cannot be used by anyone else....ever?
So my questions are:
1- How did they know I used the credits?! haha
2- Is it unreasonable for me to push back and try to use them as I desire? If I don't use them, they will expire at the end of 2022. I can understand that they originally paid for the flights and an argument can be made that they are rightfully owned by my ex-employer, but if they can't be transferred and I have no intention of returning to work for them, why would they NOT want me to use them?
3- I presume my delta # is still sync'd with their systems, so would it be possible to get a new skymiles number so as to avoid future "tracking" of my personal flying itineraries??
Thanks all!

Checking bags through, extra baggage benefits on rebooked interline with Alaska
I was booked on a BZN-SLC-JFK but the first leg was changed and didnt work for me. The only later flight out from BZN was on Alaska to SEA, so after much pleading Delta rebooked me on that flight and then on to JFK from SEA on DL. As a Plat Medallion, I should get 3 checked bags. Will Alaska accommodate this extra allowance, and will they tag it through to JFK so I dont have to retrieve and recheck in SEA?

Paid Upgrade Offers - Rule of Thumb?
Hey everyone -
I bought a regular economy ticket on a long haul route (~10 hour flight) and being offered the chance to upgrade to Delta One for $499.
Considering Delta One on this route is pricing at $3,000+ each way, it seems like a great deal.
However, the Delta One cabin is almost completely empty, so Im asking the question:
Should I expect this to decrease in price as we get closer to the flight date?
I understand the answer is it depends on if Delta is able to fill the cabin with paid tickets, upgrades, what happens over the next few days with seats, etc. However, given we cant predict any of that, is there a rule of thumb on (all else equal) paid upgrade prices increasing or decreasing as we get closer to departure?

DL Rip Van Winkle: coming out of COVID-19
Now being back in the FF mode, I feel like Rip Van Winkle after his 20 year snooze!
Being high risk for COVID-19, my last flight was in March 2020 - this after flying an average of 200K+ MQMs/year on DL years before and since the inception of the Diamond SM level, $15K in e-credits waiting to be used, an itch to get back to traveling, and being double vaccinated, with the last vaccination in early January - and I am ready to fly!
I have not followed the sad downturn in in-flight service, to which DL management seems to adhere to as if they were cult members, and with several TAT trips coming up, this is not a trivial issue for me.
So, one of my first TAT trips I needed/wanted to book is SFO-CPH 6/2/21 - return 6/11/21 - D1: $5,400! with a few hundred dollars less if going a few days before or after. A D1 leisure trip SLC-CDG in August is ~$4300 - going on the 'flexible fare table' again at most brings it down a few hundred $'s if going on the cheapest dates
This without having any clue whether DL is still following their cult leaders at the Mayo Clinic as in serving the sad bag of salty dry 'snacks' and a tiny lukewarm water bottle I got on my first flight since March: BOI-SLC! in paid first (with eCredits!)
So seeing that the SFO-CPH flight on AF 83 suited me best - ($5,400 in BC on DL r/t) i just for the fun of it checked with AE-P travel to see what that would be in the much lauded 4 seat La Premier cabin on the same 777 - and to my surprise, it turned out to be $ 6,100 r/t for a refundable, changeable FC ticket compared to DL's non-refundable, non-changeable BC fare, with in-flight service, if any, I have no clue what is, this was a no-brainer, I am now booked in LP suite seat 1A! - and am quite excited about experiencing the exclusive, (and for awards and seats available,, elusive) La Premiere hard and soft product, rated #3 amongst international FC product behind Singapore and Qatar
So being a paid frequent international BC traveler by nature (having a lot of lost travel to make up), and with the undefined in-flight product by DL, and what seems to be a significant increase in both miles and dollars for long-distance D1/BC flights, I am going to check out flying with sky-miles partners before returning to DL metal as my suspicion is, you will get better in-flight service (how could you not) - and sometimes, like this time, be able to snag an elusive and attractive upgrade for the same price, or for only a little more. And yes, I do intend to stay DL Diamond, partly due to hub-capture, benefits for friends and family, and the occasional upgrade when not flying FC domestically
I may even shave my COVID beard and change sweat pants to dress pants from the many ZOOM/ and Teams meetings after my 20+ week off-flight snooze! before being pickled up by Air France's limo in SFO to start my La Premiere flight!
It seems after reading many of the threads and posts here, that DL will have some work to do to make up for decisively having gutted their inflight service way below any of their competitors and below what science supports (and yes, I am a doctor, and I do treat COVID patients and know the literature!!)

2021 PM and DM Choice Benefits Are Now Available
We were told Feb 1 for Choice Benefits availability but this morning I was able to choose my $200 DL travel voucher for PM. The voucher appeared in my wallet about 45 minutes after I selected it and is good for one year from today and is fully transferable to anyone without me needing to be on the PNR. I hit PM organically.

Earn An Extra Boost to 2022 Medallion® Status: Via CC Spend
Just got this email from Delta:
DELTA SKYMILES PLATINUM CARD MEMBERS
With Status Boost in 2021, you can earn 12,500 MQMs after you spend $25,000 in purchases on your Delta Platinum Card, up to two times. That’s 2,500 more MQMs than the 10,000 MQMs you usually earn, which means you could reach Silver Medallion Status on Card purchases alone
DELTA SKYMILES RESERVE CARD MEMBERS
With Status Boost in 2021, you can earn 18,750 MQMs after you spend $30,000 in purchases on your Delta Reserve Card, up to four times. That’s 3,750 more MQMs than the 15,000 MQMs you usually earn, which means you could reach Platinum Medallion Status on Card purchases alone.
I guess it's something.

Unable to Cancel Most Exchanged Reservations Online - Any Work Arounds
I am finding with Delta, that 95% of the time, the system does not allow me to cancel my reservations online. When you go through the workflow, it routes you to a form that sends the itinerary to passenger refunds and does not even cancel out the reserved space.
This seems to happen nearly all the time if you used ECredits to purchase the reservation you are trying to cancel.
If you purchased the ticket with a credit card and no prior exchanges or changes, then I think it allows you to cancel via automation.
I tried going through the suggested flow of filling out the refund form, and after 2 days, they still have not cancelled my reservation and send a new ECredit.
Most of the time I end up doing the text message to Delta to cancel these. This is frustrating because you have to answer several automated questions before the system will route your text chat to an agent. The agents appear to be able to readily cancel these.
Also even for the Diamond desk often there are long hold times if you wanted to call.
If I needed to cancel a flight that was leaving shortly and I could not reach Delta before the departure time I'm not sure how much of an issue this would be.
I know on American, Southwest, JetBlue, and United, you can readily cancel 99% of reservations, even if the reservation was purchased using a voucher, an unused ticket, etc. You can do this fully through the automation on the web site or app.
Another glitch with Delta is that it appears you cannot cancel a reservation if you are already checked in.
Do others experience these glitches, and are there any work arounds?>

Delta Works With Bill Gates Foundation to Donate Unused Airline Tickets
Delta Air Lines has been working with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to turn unused airline tickets by the organization into donations to a variety of charities, the carrier said today.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic and a severe reduction in business travel, the Foundation started by the Microsoft founder and his wife found itself with more than $100,000 in unused Delta tickets.
But instead of requesting a refund or trying to re-book the tickets, the Gates Foundation instead worked with Delta CEO Ed Bastian to turn the tickets into Universal Air Travel Plan cards and donate them to three charities: Feeding America, GLAAD and The National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Even amid the turbulence of COVID-19, Delta is committed to serving our people, our customers and our communities," Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a statement. We are proud to work with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to donate their unused tickets to multiple charities and support those organizations in their essential travel during the pandemic.
Delta worked with the foundation to waive all change fees, including the name change fee, and allow the value of the entire unused ticket to be donated.
Each of the three charity organizations received one-third of the total funds in unused tickets. The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, in fact, has already begun using its Universal Air Travel Plan cards.
Companies interested in donating unused tickets can reach out to the airline through their Delta account representative and consider the SkyBonus donation program, which will be open through Jan. 31, 2021.

Am I being forced from booking on Delta.com to having to use a call center agent to book this e-Credit? Or am I doing something wrong?

How to Maintain After Delta Status Match Challenge
Hi, I'm planning to enroll the Delta Gold Status Match Challenge, will I get the Gold right after the enrollment or I will only be titled after I meet the conditions?
Second question is, will the status going to be valid until January 31, 2022?
So here comes a tricky third question, usually, Delta Gold require 50k MQMs (MQD wavier), let's say I can get 12.5k MQMs within three month, but how could I get the entire 2022 year still on Gold? As my understanding, 12.5k MQMs could get me a Gold until January 31, 2022, in order to get 2022 entire year as Gold, I would need another 50k MQMs before Dec 2021, which means I need to get 62.6k MQMs before end of 2021 in order to archive the Gold for the entire year of 2022, am I right?

I recently flew STT-ATL and was #5 on the upgrade list with 0 seats available. I figured it was a non-starter so didnt bother monitoring the list, but after I boarded, I happened to look in the app and 1-4 had all cleared, leaving me at #1. Any idea how/why this might have happened? If I had known I still had a shot I wouldve used an RUC to move higher up on the list.

March schedule changes have been tough! Will my bags be checked all the way?
The March changes have had my head spinning for a west coast trip. The last flight of the day was just eliminated to come home so my only option is to either fly out at 7am with kids and have two connections.... or keep my direct afternoon flight to Atlanta and stay overnight (my choice to pay for hotel) to go home the next morning. On this kind of schedule would I expect my bags to be checked all the way to my home airport? Could I request it? We are traveling with ski equipment and would love to be able to leave them at ATL overnight for the flight home.

Skymiles and Cash cost do not line up - very high $$
Booked a one way from cvg to FLL for 3/26. Truly scored the golden ticket by getting our tickets at $49 pp BE. After a gift card I had sitting around I paid $138 for four tickets. Anyway checked again a few days later for friends and now the cost is $800 plus (for one ticket) but the point cost is 9,500 miles. The plane still looks pretty empty. I've never seen a main cabin seat so expensive for a relatively short flight - and since the cost was a fraction of that a few days ago.
What would be the reason? And why would the points be so off the cash cost?
thanks
p.s. one concern I have will the flight be canceled? I booked this flight after our original AA direct flight got changed to a short layover in CTL.

When might DL engage a digital 'health' passport?
My point of reference is a FT threat about United, then articles like the following:
Vaccine passports: Everything travelers need to know - The Washington Post
What Travelers Need to Know About Digital Health Passports TripIt Blog
Will Airlines Require Vaccine Passports in 2021? (healthline.com)
A search on the DL forum only turned up an oblique reference in the Rip Van Winkle thread. I thought there would be a dedicated thread about the status of those double vaccinated and eager to fly again.
I wish DL would engage a digital health app related to the pandemic as it is a headache to try to hold on to the vaccination card and printed proof of a negative COVID test. Is this a wasted hope? I have long depended on all kinds of digital passes in my iW and would have to relearn the value of paper documents.
Having not flown since October 2020, my first flying trip this year was going to be JAX in early March. However, last week when I got the second dose of Pfizer I also got an email saying that FL conference was not even going to be hybrid because our Canadian friends could not attend in-person.
I am sick of Zoom and want to travel so the first booked flight is GVA in June so we'll see if that holds together. Otherwise I may try IST in May or FCO in October when conference details are confirmed. I have a $4.2K e-credit that expires soon so the clock is ticking.
